Call for Abstracts
Authors are invited to submit an abstract in English to be considered for an oral or poster presentation at the Conference. The deadline for submission of abstracts is July 29 , 2010.
Instructions for Submission of Abstracts
Abstracts may be submitted via Internet only. There is no paper form to complete or mail in. Faxed and mailed submissions will not be considered. Only abstracts submitted in the correct format, as outlined below, will be considered.
When preparing to submit their abstract, authors will want to have on hand the complete contact information for the Presenting author (the Corresponding author should be the Presenting author). Before submitting an abstract, please carefully review the following abstract submission guidelines.
- Abstracts must conform to the following outline:
a) Abstract Title (as it will appear in the Final Program, Book of Abstracts and Proceedings)
b) Authors and Institutions
c) Abstract body
- The abstract body is limited to 300 words. A template is available and must be saved and filled out for abstract submission. Abstracts must be submitted in MS Word (PC) format ONLY.
- Brand names may not be used in abstract titles and are limited to one reference within the body.
- Total authors are limited to ten per abstract.
- Limit of one abstract per presenting author.
- All fields on the online abstract submission form must be completed. Please print a copy of the abstract submission form for your records prior to clicking the submit button.
- Do not resubmit your abstract for any reason other than a notified submission error. If you do not receive a confirmation email with a receipt number that your abstract was successfully uploaded, please contact the Conference Secretariat Office.

Abstract Review
All abstracts will be reviewed by the Technical Program Committee. Notice of acceptance will be sent to the corresponding author by email on October 1, 2010. Abstracts will be accepted or rejected at the discretion of the Technical Program Committee. Please do not call regarding the status of your abstract.
Note to Authors
Accepted abstracts will be published in the Book of Abstracts with Proceedings on a memory stick. Abstracts and papers submitted for possible submission in IHHA proceedings are reviewed by peers, and may or may not be accepted for publication. Papers that are of exceptional quality, as judged by peers, are invited to be published in a special edition of the Journal of Rail and Rapid Transit (JRRT) of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, where they are subject to a separate and rigorous peer-review process.
Submission of an abstract constitutes the commitment of at least one author to register for the Conference and do a presentation. Expenses associated with the preparation, submission, and presentation of a paper or poster is the responsibility of the author/presenter.
In order to be part of the IHHA 2011 Technical Program, the author/presenter must register by March 1, 2011 and must submit payment at this time.
You further agree that if your abstract is accepted, you will be present at the Conference to present your research.
Abstracts are to be submitted via the Conference Website (only electronic submissions will be accepted for review). Your abstract will be published as submitted. The organizers do not accept any responsibility regarding the accuracy of the abstracts. The organizers reserve the right to reject any abstract at their sole discretion.
If your abstract is accepted for an oral or poster presentation, a full paper will be required for the Proceedings by March 1, 2011.
