Audience Profile

IHHA2011 in Calgary will be attended by an estimated 350-400 delegates representing all of the nations in the world where long and heavy trains are operated.  Attendees will bring together railway operations managers with engineering practitioners and researchers representing the state of the art in bulk haul railroading.  An associated workshop on the IHHA treatise on Infrastructure Maintenance and Construction will bring in 60 high potential young engineering and maintenance of way people from CN, CP and UP, among other railways.  In addition, invited plenary session presentations will ensure that a number of senior railway executives from Canada, USA, China and Australia will be on site.

Based upon a very strong response to the Call for Abstracts, with over 250 submitted, organizers are expecting a strong engineering and mechanical contingent from North America, China, Australia, South Africa and Sweden.  Papers are expected to be presented from 23 different countries putting forward their best contributions to what will be an excellent overview of world heavy haul best practice, with an accent on solutions to the challenges railways face in extreme environments and operating conditions.

The conference offers social networking, exhibitor space and sponsorship opportunities to ensure your company is associated with heavy haul best practice and solutions to the common issues facing breakpoint railroading worldwide.
